Day 9

Today we went to the internet cafe after and hour we went to a s..... store.

Monday morning went to the internet cafe around 10am. Read/sent emails & sent pics of the mountains from Sunday. After the internet cafe, Jim & Sarah walked to the Tsum department store, bought some souvenirs (urta, guitar) & t-shirts.
Went to Baskin Robbins & had ice cream cake (no cones yet-must have been making ice cream) Peach ice cream on chocolate cake. Sarah had the cake. Just after noon. Olga's coming to clean this afternoon.

Igor came around 3:30pm. On the way to Laura's orphanage, Jim had Igor stop at a market & get bubbles for Laura to play with. Igor also got some triangle pastries with meat in them (delicious) & Pepsiís for us to drink.

At the orphanage (4:30pm) Laura was very excited to see us. We played out front with her (she did not play with her group)
She loved the ball (that we bought at the Ramstore on Saturday)& the bubbles-she was chasing them & trying to catch them.
We brought dried apricots & prunes, which was used as bait, along with cookies & M&Ms, to sit in the van.
She sat in the van (on Sarah's lap) a good 15 minutes-then for a few minutes on Jim's lap. She would only sit on the seat near the sliding door.
The first time we gave her a cookie today, we just showed her the package & she said "cocky". We left at 6:10 pm.
On the way back, we stopped at the rug factory & bought 2 wall-covering rugs (small); one was of Almaty & the other of traditional Kazak dress.
Olga brought chicken soup, chicken, salad & cookies. Suze's paperwork is in Washington
